Discover why to resist not fight
In Christ Jesus, we don’t have to fight our enemies because the fight is the Lord’s. We just have to fight the fight of faith where we reckon ourselves for more than conquerors. So we only have to resist the enemy because Jesus has already gained the victory for us and we just have to walk in that victory.
The victory of Jesus for us
If we want to walk in victory, all the time, we have to become aware of the fact that everything that Jesus has done on this earth, that He has done it for us. Jesus died for us and as us. Jesus rose from the dead for us and as us. Jesus sat at the right hand of the Father for us and as us.
So because of the fact that Jesus is on the throne in heaven, for us and as us, we can reckon His victory for us and we can see ourselves on the throne, in Him.
Sitting on the throne to reign
Because of the fact that we are sitting on the throne, in Christ Jesus, to reign in life, we don’t have to fight for victory but we only have to resist the enemy. So to walk in victory we have to detach victory in Christ from ourselves or from our limitations or from what we can control or from what we can see.
In Matthew 19:26 Jesus said to His disciples: With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
And in James 4:6b-8 it is written: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
So victory is already won by Christ Jesus and we have to humble ourselves and accept what Jesus has done for us. In 1 John 4:4 we can read: You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
So we have to declare that we are victorious in Christ Jesus because of the fact that our victory is based on what Jesus has already done for us.
Believe, speak, and receive
In Romans 10:10 it is written: For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
And in Revelation 12:11 it is written: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
So the key to victory is resisting every temptation to doubt our position in Christ Jesus, as rulers in life.
In James 1:5-8 it is written: If anyone of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
For, let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
If you walk in Gods wisdom, you have to realise that He is responsible for the confirmation of your rulership. You only have to speak with the authority of a king, when you decree things in the name of Jesus.
So victory is assured when our plans or desires are subjected to God’s plans and will for our lives.
