God’s law in our hearts

God’s law in our hearts

In Jeremiah 31:33-34 and Hebrews 8:10-12, it is written that God has put His laws in our minds and that He has written them on the tables of our hearts.

In Hebrews 8:10-12, it is written: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

None of them shall teach his neighbour and none his brother, saying, know the Lord, for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.

A lot of people think that those laws, written on the tables of our hearts, are the laws of Moses, but the laws of Moses were written on tables of stones.

The laws that God has written on the tables of our hearts are the law of love, the law of faith, and the law of freedom.

The law of love

The law of love Is a new law that Jesus has given us before He went to the cross. In John 13:34 it is written: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

In 1 John 4:19 it is written: We love Him because He first loved us. So, what’s new on this commandment? The new thing is, that we have to love God and people as He has loved us with His own love which the Holy Spirit had poured out in our hearts and that by faith working through love.

In Romans 5:5 it is written: Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

And in Galatians 5:6 it is written: For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

The law of faith

The law of faith is the law that includes hearing and speaking. In Romans 10:17 it is written: So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

And in 2 Corinthians 4:13 it is written: And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak.

In Romans 10:10 it is written: For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

And in Hebrews 11:1 it is written: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The law of freedom

The law of freedom is the law of obedience to God, voluntarily, by faith working through love.

In Philemon 14 it is written: But without your consent, I wanted to do nothing, that your good deed might not be by compulsion, as it were, but voluntary.

And in 1 James 1:25 it is written: But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Conclusion

The three laws that God has written on the tables of our hearts are the law of love, the law of faith and the law of freedom so that we can obey God, voluntarily, by faith working through love. And this is the perfect will of God.
