How to deal with condemnation

How to deal with condemnation

To overcome condemnation we have to deal wisely with condemnation. We have to know what condemnation is all about and we have to know what causes condemnation. We also have to know what the consequences are of condemnation.

Condemnation is the expression of a very strong disapproval or the action of condemning someone to a punishment.

Causes of condemnation

We feel condemned when we, ourselves, or others judged us of not being good enough or of not doing enough. So when we use the law, rules or assumptions to judge ourselves, we feel condemned.

Consequences of condemnation

When we feel condemned we get afraid of being judged or rejected and we become stressful. By becoming fearful and stressful we can become overwhelmed by anxiousness and we even can get psychosomatic disorders.

How to deal with condemnation

We can overcome condemnation by changing our way of thinking. Instead of focusing on our condition we have to focus on our position in Christ Jesus. Conditional we are, most of the time, not good enough but God declared us positional perfect in Christ Jesus. So when we feel condemned we can use the words but God to contradict with a bible verse our condemnation. For instance, we can use John 3:17-18.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  or

Romans 8:1-2

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

So be thankful for your position in Christ Jesus and don’t condemn yourself or others because of your condition in life. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words, you will be condemned.
