Discover the really good news
To discover the really good news, you don’t have to be sin conscious but righteousness conscious. When you’re conscious of sin, then you don’t understand the grace of God for your salvation through Christ Jesus.
The really good news is, that Christ Jesus has become sin so that we can become the righteousness of God, in and through Him. Due to this good news, we will thank God, praise God, love God, and obey God with whole our hearts.
In Luke 7:47 it is written: Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same love little.
And in Romans 2:4 it is written: Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
When we have a performance mentality, we are self-righteous and we want to do everything well to receive God’s approval and to receive the honor of men. That’s why performance mentality forces us to focus on sin while grace urges us to focus on what Jesus did for us.
The real good news lets us know that Jesus, through His sacrifice for our redemption, is enough. So we have to rest in Jesus’s work of redemption. When we rest in Jesus work of redemption we won’t have a performance mentality anymore but a rest mentality.
In Hebrews 9:11-12 it is written: But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
And in Hebrews 9:15 it is also written: And for this reason, He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
Jesus is enough
The really good news says to us that Jesus is enough due to His offer for our redemption and wholeness. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 it is Written: If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
And in 2 Corinthians 5:21 it is written: For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
So in our born-again spirit, we are clean, holy, and pure, as Christ Jesus Himself. This is so because God is looking at our spirit and not to our soul. God wants to help us with the issues of our soul without condemning us. He wants to help us with the renewing of our minds
He wants to help us with the renewing of our minds so that we can become aware of our identity and legal status in Christ Jesus, which are ours already.
In 1 John 4:17 it is written: Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
We have seen through the scriptures that Jesus is enough and that makes the Gospel a really good news. And as we study John 16:8-11 carefully, we will see that the only sin which brings separation between God and men, is the rejection of our Lord Jesus.
